Sociology of migration, race and ethnicity, sociology of education

My primary fields of interests are the sociology of migration and education. My current works examine how the institutions, particularly educational institutions, respond the increasingly diversifying populations through immigrants and refugees. I am also investigating the formation of ethnic and symbolic boundaries between majority societies and immigrants and refugees in countries such as Turkey, Germany, Lebanon and the United States. I am recently working on a book manuscript to report the findings of this research. My earlier works on the identity formation and integration of the second generation youth appeared in the journals such as Ethnic and Racial Studies; Identities: Global Studies and Culture and Power; British Journal of Sociology of Education; and International Migration.
