The Department of Comparative Literature at Koç University invites applications for one or more full-time faculty positions to begin September 2021. The rank is open, but preference will be given to junior candidates. We are particularly interested in candidates with a comparatist research profile in the following areas:
• minority literatures of the Ottoman Empire
• modern eastern European literatures, preferably with a focus on Russian
The TUBITAK project titled “A Contribution to the Debate on Commercialization of Agriculture in the Ottoman Empire: Agricultural Production in the Biga District, 1840-1860” seeks
• MA students enrolled in a History program or a related field.
Role Summary: Selected candidates will work in the archival research and data entry processes of the project.
Eligibility: Candidates must to be enrolled in an MA program in Turkey. They must have experience and knowledge in reading Ottoman rik’a texts. Interest in Environmental History is an asset.More information
We seek to hire two currently enrolled PhD students to join the interdisciplinary AI as Author project team at Koç University (preferably October 2020):
• PhD Student in Literature or Linguistics
• PhD Student in Natural Language Processing
Working closely with senior project members, the appointees will assist in research, preparing publications and organising the project’s international conference to be held in 2022. Please note that only PhD students currently (or soon to be) enrolled at universities in Turkey – ideally Istanbul – are eligible to apply.
