We are a young department, founded in 2008, but in that short time we have built a reputation as one of Türkiye’s leading philosophy departments, with a record both for producing high quality research for international journals and publishers and for providing world-class education to our students.

Our undergraduate program provides students a foundation in philosophical thinking, introducing them to the full range of philosophy’s sub-disciplines, from ethics to metaphysics. Students learn to think clearly, logically, and independently. Interested students will be prepared for graduate level study in philosophy and related areas; many of our students have gone on to join prestigious international graduate programs. We also provide the opportunity to take one or more of the following interdisciplinary specialisations: Classical Studies; Philosophy, Politics, and Economics; and Cognitive and Brain Science.
