Overview
David Egan was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. He earned a BA in philosophy from Harvard University and an MA from the University of Toronto before completing his DPhil at the University of Oxford. He has taught at a number of institutions in the last decade, including Oxford, the University of Chicago, Hunter College in the City University of New York, Outer Coast, and Deep Springs College. His research covers a wide range of topics with a particular focus on twentieth century philosophy. He is the author of The Pursuit of an Authentic Philosophy: Wittgenstein, Heidegger, and the Everyday, which was published by Oxford University Press in 2019.
